Founded by Japanese polymath and educator in Japan, Jigoro Kano (1860–1938), judo is known as a combat and Olympic sport. The objective of judokas is to throw or takedown the opponent to the ground, or immobilise the other judoka with a pin. Further, a judoka can also force an opponent to submit with a joint lock or a choke.
There are many categories within Judo, ranging from Extra Lightweight, Half Lightweight, Lightweight, Half Middleweight, Middleweight, Half Heavyweight, Heavyweight and Open Class.
