Derived from the Malay term “sepak” which means, “to kick,” sepak takraw is a Southeast Asian sport that widely played in Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, and Thailand. It also known as kick volleyball, but instead of using wrists and hands, players are expected to serve the ball using the feet, knees, chest, and head. In Myanmar, sepak takraw is called chin lone. The Singapore National Men’s Team has competed in many major sepaktakraw tournaments.

Singapore Sepaktakraw Federation, or better known as Persekutuan Sepaktakraw Singapura (PERSES) has the mission to control, manage and develop Sepaktkaraw nation wide through planning , organizing, marketing and promotional activities aimed at developing Sepaktakraw as a major national sport.
