Back then when I started blogging in Lemon Film, it was just an ordinary and personal photography blog with just a few words for captions. The only social media that I had was Flickr, where my wife and myself will share our travel photographs online. Despite Lemon Film and Flickr being both my digital companions to share my thoughts, Lemon Film is more personal; It is a blog where I write down the memories my wife and myself did together. After blogging for almost a year, my life and my blog have changed. All my attention is given to my little boy and here comes my next phase of life: Parenthood.

Like many other first-time parents, I have bought a couple of best-selling pregnancy and parenting books. These books have taught the theories behind parenting, but our parents are the real mentors that conducted all the crash courses for us. In just a month of blogging, Lemon Film has evolved into a collection of my personal fatherhood experiences.
The most painstaking experience as a first-time parent is the lack of beauty sleep; it is a 24/7 stand-by job. Waking up multiple times during the night sure drains me out on my next working day. Surely, watching him sleeping soundly after his warm bottle of milk makes me feel satisfied.

Curiosity is where the family laughter and happiness begins. Watching my boy getting curious about everything around him, gives me fresh ideas on what to plan for our next family playtime. From chasing bubbles, playing with flour dough and tasting of a slice of lemon, I enjoyed watching all his facial expressions.
Throughout the past 4 years of fatherhood, I have learnt a lot of things about the importance of life and family. I once wrote in my blog post, "Fatherhood is another dimensional experience of life, where responsibility weighs more than freedom and my child's happiness weighs much more than mine." This is my personal quote, which describes my feeling and thoughts of being a Dad.

Being a parent is a lifelong commitment and the rewards are immeasurable. Many parents spend their time working hard for money, but they missed the growing up phase of their child. If you are a parent today, do enjoy your child's growing up moments and what matters most to them is your company.
